Message from the Principal:
Greetings Families of Madison Avenue Elementary School,
Thank you for a smooth start to a new school year. The month of August brought smiles and excitement for a new year. Academically rigorous teaching and learning is well underway with the continued implementation of Really Great Reading, Envision Math, engaging centers, and student use of iPads and Chromebooks for assessments and center activities. Our school community has renewed its commitment to the use of arts integration in all classes as a vehicle for teaching academic State standards. Our staff is bringing energetic instruction and special activities to keep student interest strong in the weeks and months ahead.
The month of September will involve the completion of universal screeners we started in August such as our Kindergarten Readiness Assessment, DIBELS, and NWEA MAP to help us establish a baseline for how students are performing in Reading and Math. This information that we collect helps inform our instructional decision so that we can ensure students are moving toward more growth and more proficiency in the months ahead. Student score reports will be shared with parents after each test administration so you can see your child's growth and movement toward proficiency. We recently had our AR kickoff rally, and students are already reading multiple books and taking their AR tests in the mornings when they arrive at school to earn AR points. Our students are also earning Kingdom points for positive behavior shown in all areas of the school to encourage the building of character and community through PBIS.
As a reminder, all parents are welcome to come eat lunch with their children on campus on any day Monday through Friday beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2025. When visiting our campus for lunch, please sign in at the front desk and get a visitor sticker and wait for your child in the foyer to walk to the cafeteria with the class. We look forward to our joint MAE/MAUE Elementary School "Night in the Jungle" at the Madison Central High School football game on this Friday, September 5, 2025. We will meet under the jumbotron at 6:10 and walk to the other end zone at 6:30 to run across the field. We look forward to seeing as many of our MAE families supporting our elementary night at Madison Central wearing your "Out of This World" themed tshirt for the year or Jag school spirit gear. Thank you for your continued support of our school. We appreciate you.

ARTS IN EDUCATION WEEK is September 15 – 19!

Arts in Education Week is a national celebration recognizing the transformative power of arts in the classroom. To celebrate this special week, MAE will highlight various art forms in classrooms this week including music, dance, drama/theater arts, media arts, and visual arts.

Please encourage your child to wear clothing with dots on it on Monday, September 15, in honor of International Dot Day. Students can wear anything with dots and can even make their own dot shirts if they’d like! Dot Day was inspired by Peter H. Reynold’s book, The Dot, and is a day that we celebrate the creativity that lives in all of us!
It’s almost time for our PTO FALL FUNDRAISER!!

Get ready for Blue Card Launch!
The blue card is back and more stellar than ever! The fundraiser will be blasting off on September 19th and will run through October 3rd.
All student fundraising packets will be sent home on Friday, September 19 and will contain all the information you'll need in order to complete a successful blue card mission.
Each card will cost $20 and can be used for "out of this world" discounts at our many participating local businesses. This year's funds will go towards a fabulous upgrade to MAE's reading garden!
