A Message from the Principal:
Greetings Families of MAE,
Thank you for your recent support of our PTO Disney Raffle Fundraiser. With your support, we raised almost $ 45,000 toward the STEAM Lab position and supplies. This month, we continue to provide engaging hands on activities to keep students interested in learning. As the school year continues, it is important now more than ever before to keep students motivated to make positive choices and develop good character traits that will serve them well in school and in life. In support of our students, I am implementing two new recognition strategies. For our Kindergarten students, I am giving out yellow stars to Kindergarten students who stand out for positive behavior choices and good character and strong work ethic in the classrooms when I visit them. Our 1st and 2nd Grade students have an opportunity to sign "The Good Book" in the principal's office for positive behavior choices. Several students have already been sent to the office at the end of the school day for "good things". This is a positive spin on students being sent to the office for the positive choices they make. I love hearing students share the positive reasons they were sent to see me to sign "The Good Book".
Parents are welcome to join us for Valentine's Parties on Friday, February 14, 2025. If you have an opportunity, I would encourage each of you to send an encouraging message or email to your child's teacher and assistant next week to say thank you. Our staff will be showered with appreciation from me the week of Valentine's Day for going above and beyond to make the MAE experience an exceptional one all year long. Join me in this effort to show them just how much we appreciate them moving the "Mark of Excellence" daily and taking the best care of our children. Exceptional Staff. Exceptional Students. Exceptional Community. We are Avenue.
In service of staff, students, & community,
Dr. Kristal Pollard Epting
