Message from the Principal:

Greetings Families of MAE,

April is now here, and we are excited about all the wonderful things happening around our campus. Our "Muffins with Loved Ones" event will be next week with each grade level having their own morning for this special event.  We encourage all students to invite a female parent, guardian, family member, or role model to participate with us.

Spring parent conferences will be held in the coming weeks.  Teachers will reach out to parents/guardians about scheduling those "end of year" conversations for this academic year.  April is also the season for end of the year assessments and screeners to see how much our students have grown academically since the beginning of the year.  Your child's teacher will send you information about these dates to mark on your calendars.  Please be sure to have your students at school on time each day to participate in our end of year assessments, engaging field trips, and activities to keep students engaged through the end of May.

Finally, I want to share with our school community that I recently shared with staff my decision not to return as principal of MAE for the 2026-2027 school year.  I will continue to serve through the end of June 2026 and am available for any needs that arise during this final stretch of the school year.  Thank you for your support of our school, the vision, and the goals we accomplished together.  I wish MAE a bright future ahead!

Message from the PTO Co-Presidents:

What a wonderful year we've had at MAE! Thank you for supporting the PTO this year through various fundraising and volunteer opportunities. Whether you sold a Blue Card or a Disney raffle ticket, participated in a Spirit Night, purchased Jag merchandise, or volunteered your time decorating the lobby, shelving books, or helping at a special event, we couldn't have had a successful year without YOU!!!

Thank you for making it possible for us to host monthly lunches for our staff and to invite New Stage Theatre to perform for our students. Thank you for supporting Breakfast with Santa and Arts on the Avenue. Thank you for helping us surpass our fundraising goals in both the Fall and the Spring fundraisers! Because of your fundraising efforts, we look forward to watching students enjoy the Reading Garden for years to come and are grateful to be able to fund our STEAM lab for another year. Without a doubt, we are blessed to be part of the Madison Avenue community!

It has been our honor and privilege to serve as PTO co-presidents this year. We have truly enjoyed getting to know so many of you and serving alongside you. As this year comes to an end, we are excited to share that Laura Dixon and Mary Frances Johnson will be our 2026-2027 PTO co-presidents, and we look forward to serving under their leadership next year. We know great things are ahead!

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

May 4-8

Teacher Appreciation Week will be May 4th-8th. The PTO has something special planned for our staff members each day, but we need your help! On Tuesday, May 5th please have your child give his/her teacher(s) a card or note. This can be homemade or store bought. On Thursday, May 7th please send a flower to school with your child for his/her teacher(s). It can be a flower from your backyard, purchased from a store, or even a drawing of a flower! Your child’s teacher will put all of the flowers together to make a beautiful arrangement from the class. Please remember your child’s specials teachers this week too. Thank you for all of your support!

TERM 4 AR PARTY

May 8th

Friday, May 8th is the date for the next AR party.  We will celebrate with sno-cones, inflatables, and other fun games! Students must meet their goals by May 6 to attend the AR party.  Volunteers are needed and shifts are 45 minutes each between 8:00 AM and 1:30 PM.

Check the SignUpGenius for the available volunteer times and join us to celebrate reading!

Thank you to all the volunteers who supported the March AR party!  The students enjoyed the storyteller experience and their popcorn snack in the reading garden.  These celebrations are only possible with the support of our wonderful volunteers.
