MAE Jag Blast, April 2024

Message from Principal:

Dear MAE Parents,

The 4th 9 weeks is underway, and our teachers and students are working hard each day to meet the grade-level requirements in place.  We know the expectations are high, but we also know your children are capable of amazing things! Thank you for your continued support at home. The wonderful partnerships we foster with our parents are such a special and rewarding part of our job.

We are also focusing on using this last 9 weeks to make learning fun and hands-on. Our goal is to use each and every day to make a positive, meaningful, and lasting impression on your child. One of our favorite experiences is right around the corner. I hope you and your family will make plans to attend our Arts on the Avenue Celebration on April 11th. This year the celebration will be shared with Upper!

The arts are such an important part of MAE. Not only are arts enrichment activities and art-integrated lessons fun, but they also help learning stick. Teaching through the arts (visual, digital, theater, music, dance and movement) allows teachers to tap into students' different learning styles and present content in various ways. Students are able to engage in critical thinking and construct personal meaning as they make choices, problem-solve, and innovate new ideas. The arts are one of the most important ways we are helping our students grow mind, body, and soul!

Thank you again for all of your support. As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us with any questions, concerns, or ideas you have.

Sincerely,

Melissa Philley
