Letter from the Principal
Dear MAE Families,
We have GREAT news! The Fall Cheese Straw Fundraiser was a HUGE success! Even in these trying times, we raised over $40,000!!!!! We will use the profits of this sale to purchase the shade for the picnic area. We will also be able to purchase the new digital marque for out front! This money is truly a blessing to our school. Thank you to our PTO and all of families for your help with this fundraiser.
I also want to thank you for supporting us in our goal of academic excellence. We will continue to support and challenge our students each day. We ask that you do the same. Report cards will be coming home November 12th. Please note the skills that your student has mastered (M) at this time and the skills that should have been mastered (L). Your child must have an M is 80% of the skills on the report card to be eligible for promotion at the end of the school year. Also, please take a look at the required reading levels that are located on the front of the report card. If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s progress, please do not hesitate to contact us. We can meet virtually or in person to come up with a plan that will enable your child to meet their academic goals.
Finally, I want to thank all of our parents and family members for being a part of the MAE family. It has been an interesting year. We have all had to adjust to a new normal, but some things will never change at MAE. We have amazing kids that love to learn. We have amazing families that go above and beyond for their students and our school. We have an amazing staff that place an emphasis on creating a positive, fun and loving classroom while having high expectations and rigorous instruction each day. We have much to be thankful for indeed. We know that there are still challenges ahead, but together we will face them. Nothing will stand in our way of making MAE a great place to learn and grow.
Sincerely,
Melissa Philley
