MAE Jag Blast, November 2023

Message from Principal:

Dear MAE Families,

MAE will be very busy this month making curriculum connections through special events such field trips, performances, family events, and projects. We know these types of experiences bring learning to life and motivate our students to succeed. The skills we are currently covering in class require students to apply their knowledge and become independent in using the skills they are learning. Please continue your efforts at home to help your student develop independent reading, writing, math, and speaking & listening skills.

Because we have much to cover before the end of this semester, our staff members have high-impact lessons planned for each day. Please arrive on time each morning, limit checkouts to required appointments, and have your student here unless they are ill or have a therapy or doctor’s appointment. Also, please remember our school funding is determined by our attendance records for the months of October and November. Our funding increases as our attendance rates improve.

Our staff members are also busy connecting with you through our first semester parent conferences. Thank you for making education a priority and for partnering with us to set academic and/or behavior goals for your student. We know we are better together and appreciate your feedback, insight, and support as we nurture and instruct your child.

What a wonderful time of year it is!! We have so much to be thankful for at MAE! Our students, parents, faculty and staff, and community are all amazing, and it is such a privilege to be at Madison Avenue Elementary. I want to thank you for your continued support and ask that you continue to reach out with any ideas, questions, or concerns.

Sincerely,

Melissa Philley
